Expanding wood
Out of one wooden table 7 new tables can be constructed. The wood has been planed down to its constituent wood particles and has been recast. As the wood starts a foaming reaction with the glue it expands to twice its size. From the particles 6 tables can be made. The 7th table is constructed from the remaining slithers of veneer that could not go be planed through the machine. The material has been optimised to its full potential. The shape of the new table reflects the behaviour of the material during the making process.
