Foam China is a new patented porcelain material that expands to more than 300% of its original volume. Just like bread, the foam literally rises in the kiln, meaning you need just one third of the material. Its open structure makes the material very lightweight. This new porcelain has unusual properties, for example it is semi-translucent, buoyant, and is waterproof. This material has the capabilities of producing lightweight objects that can be used in a similar way to china. It has a wide range of potential, from architectural materials such as bricks and tiles to insulations or to tableware.
